Barras of soccer, aguante and territorial struggles in the city: typification of graffiti barrista
Abstract
This paper presents the way that relations between the "barras of soccer", especially the conflict, acquire a territorial dimension through graffiti, and its relationship with "aguante". Field observations and 10 in-depth interviews were done in Bogotá, Colombia, to “barristas” of La Guardia Albi Roja Sur -Santa Fe- and Comandos Azules Distrito Capital –Millonarios-, with different levels of experience in each crowd. Seven notions that typify graffiti of “barras of soccer” are proposed, and it is concluded that there is a correlation between the idea of "aguante" that members of the "barra" have -more close to "carnaval" or "combate"- and the type of "graffiti barrista" that they consider legitimate.
