Favorable and restrictive factors of female excellence in sport

Abstract

In recent decades, there has been a greater recognition of female talent in sports, however, there are still few researches devoted to understanding the development of women's excellence in sports. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze the social and personal factors that encourage and limit the development of excellence in female athletes. The literature suggests the combination of aspects of the environment and personality traits as determinants to the excellence of female athletes.
