Human Movement Coordination Variability: Concept and Interpretation

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to present different theories about variability and movements variability associated with sports world and how it affects athletes and their performance or injury. Drawing on classical studies, where variability is analyzed from a mathematical perspective (taking into account only the standard deviation) this was interpreted as "noise" and was eliminated or had not considered; subsequently, other theories of dynamical systems that contradicted the above, considering the variability as necessary and inevitable because of the different constraints of the task, all analyzed with the most sophisticated technology, 3D images, powerful software and analysis data according to the technique used, the re-evaluation data to consider it positive or negative. Different studies in diverse sports the analyzed, but almost always in laboratory, which appears to leave open a line for future research in the field of real game, to take into account the interpretations limitations and/or restrictions of the environment in a particular time of the completion of the task, for that reason, the aim of this work is to know different human movement coordination variability stiles and the interpretation.
