The Soccer as a Tourist Boost Worldwide
Abstract
Soccer fans decide to travel to the cities where the matches are held, which means getting to know new places and benefiting local businesses through different types of consumption. Many stadiums have become tourist places that receive thousands of visitors, such as the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid or the Camp Nou in Barcelona. The cities that are chosen to host the Olympic Games also considerably increase the number of tourists they receive, before and during the mega-event. Sports, and soccer in particular, have a lot to do with the development of tourism as part of international trade, which also represents an important source of income for many countries.
