Abstract

Horse racing has been and continues to be one of the most popular sports in the betting world. Horses are considered to have been domesticated 6,000 years ago and the first recorded races date back to the ancient Olympic Games. Over time, the races expanded to different territories around the planet. In the 17th century, the first competitions organized at the initiative of the nobility in England and France were held. In the 18th century the first records of the races were established. And a century later, modern horse racing began.
