Why is Soccer One of the Most Popular Sports in the World?
Abstract
Soccer is the sport that arouses the most interest in the world, as was demonstrated in the World Cup recently held in Qatar. The Argentine team managed to convene close to five million people who celebrated in the streets after beating France on penalties in the final match. The passion is also reflected in the classic matches that are played in different leagues, such as Barcelona and Real Madrid, Boca Juniors and River Plate, Celtic and Rangers that add a plus of emotion to the fans. Soccer is entertainment with enormous visual appeal due to the individual skills and collective plays that are displayed on the pitches. It also creates superstars like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, who attract millions of viewers looking to emulate their idols.
