Training Load, Recovery, Well-Being and Stress Tolerance of Long Jump Athletes
Abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate and monitor internal training load (ITL) responses, recovery levels, well-being and stress tolerance (ST) during three weeks of training in the competitive period of long jump athletes. Five jumping athletes from athletics participated in the study, who, during three weeks, had their session rating of perceived exertion (RPEsession) monitored after 30 minutes of the end of each training session, the total quality of recovery scale (TQR) and the Well-being questionnaire before the start of each training session. The DALDA questionnaire was applied at the end of each training week to assess ST. The results showed that no significant differences were found between the three training weeks for all variables analyzed. In addition, in week 1 it was verified the highest ITL and also the athletes presented the worst value for overall well-being; the lowest ITL was found in the third training week, in which the athletes were more recovered and with the best overall well-being. Therefore, it is concluded that ITL, recovery, well-being and ST were not different during the three training weeks, indicating little variation in training loads in the monitored competitive period.
