Sport and leisure practices in public policy in Aracaju city
Abstract
This article has a general goal to analyze the public policy of sport and leisure in the city of Aracaju-SE, considering the occupation of the various public spaces. The specific objectives are: a) to verify the number of projects/programs and their respective places; b) to verify the objectives of each project/program and the relationship with the population registered; and c) identify which factors/problems were presented that may make the achievement or continuity of the program at centers difficult. The methodological procedure used was an exploratory descriptive study, carried out through part structured at the Secretaria Estadual de Esporte e Lazer e Juventude and the Secretaria Municipal da Juventude e do Esporte and on places where the projects are executed. In the results, it was identified that the city has public policies with projects that offer sport and leisure practices, but it highlights the need to increase and qualify them. This necessity was analyzed from the identification of four (4) projects/programs benefiting only 04 (four) of the 39 (thirty-nine) districts that Aracaju has, even with many possibilities of unoccupied spaces, such as: beaches, parks, squares, among others; and the finding that only 600 people are served in all projects/programs in the city of Aracaju, setting a small amount if we consider a population of 650,106 Aracajuanos, even though the funds received were the main problem for the continuity of the projects.
