Abstract
Sports detraining is a phenomenon that has been around for about three decades and in spite of the advances that have been made in this area of sport, other aspects on the subject are still susceptible of being approached. The investigations consulted do not take into account the biological changes that the organism of the athletes living in the height undergoes to the sudden changes of temperature and pressure, the consequent lack of oxygen that demands to find compensatory mechanisms and a different detraining of the former sportsman which live at sea level. In the present article it is pursued as objective: investigate the theoretical foundations with the intention of promoting research in the area of detraining in former athletes living in high altitude conditions. Also a proposal concerning the characteristics required for this purpose exercises is performed.
