Which are the Best Rugby Teams in Peru?

Abstract

Although rugby in Peru has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, local teams, such as Flaming Lions, Navy Warriors and Alumni Rugby Club, still have a long way to go to compete at the level of international powers. While they dominate the local tournament, their performance in international competitions has been limited. The gap with countries such as Argentina, Chile and European powers is evident. However, the increasing competitive level of Peruvian rugby, especially in the Metropolitan Tournament of Lima, is a promising sign for the future. Although the potential is great, Peruvian teams must continue to work hard to improve their level and reach international standards.
