The Modern Quixote
The Role of Spanish Literature in Shaping the Narratives of Games
Abstract
Spanish literature, with its rich history of creativity and exploration of the human condition, has significantly influenced video game narratives. Don Quixote, a classic example, has inspired many game narratives that feature characters striving for the impossible. The novel's themes of idealism, reality, and internal conflict resonate deeply with modern interactive storytelling. By allowing players to shape narratives through their choices, video games continue to build upon the legacy of Spanish literature, inviting players to reflect on their own experiences and values.
