Abstract
This article aims to understanding how the profile of the first generation of graduates of the Pedagogy course of public and private institutions is understood, as well as to understand what they reveal about the choice of course, the difficulties and what they represented for themselves and their families to be the first person to complete college. This is an exploratory research supported by a case study, qualitative in nature because it uses non-measurable data; as instruments of data collection were used semi structured interviews having as methodology of analysis the Discursive Textual Analysis, from which categories were constituted. The data revealed to us that the process of democratization of Education has been transforming the profile and the university campus, however these students lack numerous affirmative policies to keep studying, besides presenting a dichotomy in the access to courses destined to the popular classes and the favored.
