Abstract

Sports performance indicators are indispensable in the process of directing sports training. For this reason, the sports performance assessment tests applied at an early age aim to measure and assess different basic physical qualities, which could be used to search and select sporting talents in any sport. In this sense, the research objective is related to characterization of some indexes of physical preparation that intervene in massive detection for Ecuadorian Artistic Gymnastics in both sexes, in the ages between 5-6 years. The research is descriptive and quasi-experimental, studying 25 male and 23 female gymnasts, applying a speed test in 30 meters, the jumping test without impulse race, an abdominal test in 30 seconds, elbow flexion in 30 seconds and a career of 600 meters. To make the indicators, various percentiles were applied, obtaining scales of physical performance for massive detection of Ecuadorian sports talents at early ages.
