Body image and dance
Abstract
Nowadays the body becomes an object of consumption or is the mechanism by which leads people to consumption, investing more and more to get achieve the body said to be perfect. Capitalism with the media offers more and more products to improve the satisfaction with the body and thereby elevates can dissatisfaction about the universe that is the body of the thinking subject which leads to altered body image that is defined as the way by which the person perceives and feels through his body. This bibliographical research aims to identify the possible benefits of dance in the psychological realm, body and emotional individual. Thus we observed that people seek to dance as physical exercises to improve your self-image, have a positive response in this regard, because the dance works with movements, expression, and obliquely psychological aspects that lead to changes within to out. Thus we find that dancing is a way for individuals to structure their experience and self-acceptance through movement and promoting the freedom of oppressed feelings, thus causing the positive effect on the resumption of positive body image.
