Abstract

In modernity, the understanding of leisure as well as of work, runs through a distorted view of its senses and meanings, propelled by a chain of neoliberal idealisms. Thus, this study aims to analyze the non-working time of outsourced servers, as well as the leisure time of these individuals. A qualitative methodology was used, based on historical-dialectical materialism, making it possible to conduct semi-structured interviews with 16 outsourced servers from the IFCE - Juazeiro do Norte, of which 08 were male and 08 female, with a service time ranging from 03 and 23 years. The interviews analysis made it possible to reflect on the leisure and work relationship from the conception of these subjects and allowed to investigate the time of the outsourced worker and the space dedicated to leisure. Given the information presented and the arguments used, it was possible to perceive that leisure stays in second place in the daily life of the population, especially in the context of outsourced workers, opening spaces for constant investigations aiming to expand the dimensions of this problem.
