The use of chess as a pedagogical tool in school physical education

Abstract

The aims of this study was verify the possible contributions of the chess can create benefits to its practitioner, focusing returned to chess while content of physical education and was carried from the literature. Chess, created for centuries, has undergone several changes, both in appearance and in their rules and was introduced in Brazil by the Portuguese in the colonial era. In light of the literature, we found that chess provides many benefits cognitive, affective, and social and emotional control, with an activity that facilitates learning in other disciplines, making a tool for a pleasant and effective teaching. With this study, we can conclude that it is of paramount importance to use chess game as a pedagogical tool for the development of the subject in their spheres of the domain of human behavior.
