Impact of Sports Betting on the Spanish Economy

Abstract

The rise of games of chance and sports betting responds to various factors, both social, geopolitical and cultural. But the technological revolution has been decisive, in terms of the expansion of online casinos and the multiplication of players around the world. The immediacy and ease of access drive activity to unsuspected levels. In Spain, growth is verified by the growth in billing, participation in the Gross Domestic Product and the increase in jobs in the sector.
