Judo child: is there an ideal age to start for the run?

Abstract

Judo, even if it is pedagogically one of the best sports for children, when misused, can create some risks for its formation. Infants have been subjected to very early sports specialization with the aim of making them champions. This research aims to identify the ideal age, through the vision of teachers who act as coaches/coaches and teachers, so that students can be initiated in the process of sports competition in official or unofficial (school) events. We analyze if the possibility of early specialization is occurring with students from initial classes. For this, it was observed that when learning some techniques (cushion fall and overturn), the child is able to participate in competitions. We verify the purpose, when used, of the technique of preference (tokui-waza) in the initiation classes. In the methodology, we used structured questionnaires, composed of 5 questions, consisting of the minimum age to compete in federal or school events. About learning relationship of techniques and racing. On pedagogical methodologies of teaching/learning and the training of technique of preference of the student. The research sample is composed of judo teachers, black belts. There were analyzes of the notices of tournaments/competitions issued by judo event organizers, observing the minimum age offered for that event. Finally, we try to present perspectives regarding the teaching and learning process and its implications in the formation of the child.
