Actividad física e intensidad de los recreos escolares. Una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Objetivo: Conocer el nivel e intensidad de la actividad física y el tiempo sedentario de los recreos durante la jornada escolar. Método: Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva en 7 bases de datos: PubMed, Web of Science, SportDiscus, ScienceDirect, Embase, Scopus y Bireme, siguiendo las directrices del modelo PRISMA. Como estrategia de búsqueda se utilizaron las siguientes palabras clave: (Intensity OR level OR “physical activity” OR exercise) AND (recess OR playground OR break) AND (accelerometer) AND (children). Resultados: La estrategia de búsqueda arrojó 4.513 estudios de los cuales 20 investigaciones cumplieron con los criterios de elegibilidad, evidenciando cómo la práctica de actividad física y juego libre durante el recreo escolar repercute de manera positiva en el cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de actividad física en  niños y adolescentes. Conclusión: La práctica adecuada de AFMV durante el recreo escolar puede contribuir de manera positiva a la actividad física diaria recomendada y tiene el potencial de impactar positivamente en las escuelas y aumentar la condición física de los escolares.
