Fatores de risco, causas e efeitos na sintomatologia lombar em nadadores. Uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

A dor lombar é um problema comum entre nadadores. O objetivo da revisão sistemática foi avaliar os estudos publicados, e definir os fatores de risco que podem predispor um nadador a sofrer de dores lombares. Foram investigados as bases de dados PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Sciences e Cochrane Library, e foram usadas as palavras-chave Low Back Pain AND Swimmers. De acordo com os critérios definidos foram encontrados 2122 artigos após as exclusões finais e os artigos repetidos, foram analisados os artigos entre os anos de 2010 a 2020. Foram considerados todos os indivíduos, independentemente da sua idade ou sexo. De acordo, com a nossa revisão dos estudos, concluímos que existem fortes indicadores que as dores lombares estão associados a problemas técnicos e à falta de reforço muscular da zona lombar. Estes resultados são uma ferramenta para garantir e focar a importância de uma técnica de nado adequada a cada indivíduo, tal como a aplicação de programas de reforço muscular nos nadadores por parte das equipas técnicas. Ainda se colocam algumas dúvidas sobre os benefícios da natação no tratamento de algumas doenças relacionadas com a coluna vertebral, ou até no próprio bem-estar do indivíduo.
