The capoeira as a content in the lessons of Physical Education
a study of the pedagogical practice of public school teachers
Abstract
The present study aimed to identify the use of capoeira as content in Physical Education classes in public elementary schools in Fortaleza-CE. It is justified to carry out this research, considering that it can contribute to a better understanding of the reality of how Capoeira is treated as content in Physical Education classes, as well as to motivate its practice in school. In the theoretical referential are evidenced related subjects on the subject, such as: the history of Capoeira; Capoeira in school; and the pedagogical aspects of Capoeira. This is a field study, of a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional nature. Data collection was performed through field’s research. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with 5 open questions and 3 closed questions. As primary sources, 30 Physical Education teachers were interviewed. Secondary sources were obtained through field research, to build the theoretical base and to consult documentary sources for the development of information about the object and the research environment. With the conclusion of this study it is possible to point out some indicators about the importance and difficulties encountered in the dynamization of Capoeira in school, since it is a content still little explored in this environment.
