Innovation in Physical Education. Curricular materials for a significant learning in concepts of healthy back
Abstract
The sophisticated teaching-learning process has been a difficult issue for education professionals who have always looked at the correct way to approach it. For this reason, different curricular elements have been used often with an overuse of decontextualized and traditional materials. Concerning this issue, an adapted and innovative project is proposed by 5 sessions which could be aimed at students in 3rd year of Secondary Education. The main objective of this project is to achieve through the creation of curricular materials a meaningful concept of ‘education and postural habits’. Also adding three specific objectives: acquire an adequate awareness of convenient positions of the spine; automate a correct postural attitude in gestures of everyday life and school; and achieve an autonomous learning of exercises. Regarding the methodology used, a cooperative learning model with a formative evaluation and a globalizing approach is presented. In this case, various information and communication techniques (ICT) are used, both to collect information and to facilitate student learning, for example from the use of the Cazatesoros or the application https://www.powtoon.com/home/. The lack of educational innovation in postural education and back concepts justifies the project proposal. The results achieved are intended to enrich the educational system of health resources and knowledge among the youngest predisposed to poor postural habits, as well as to serve Physical Education Professionals responsible for creating health and wellness habits. In short, the methodological proposal created is not intended to be an aim in itself, but a vehicle at the service of other purposes; for a valid and meaningful physical education where the P.E. teacher is essential to the integral development of the students.
