Psychology contribution in preparation of breast cancer operation

Abstract

In recent years the role of psychological assessment has gained prominence within hospitals, especially with cancer patients. Thus, the present study aims to describe through theoretical contributions within the psychology of contributions, peculiarities and possibilities with surgical patients diagnosed with breast cancer. In this sense, descriptions were made regarding breast cancer, surgical process, and the psychosocial impacts generated by breast cancer in women. Based on these notes, the final considerations are guided to consider the importance of monitoring and psychological support, the carriers of breast cancer, from diagnosis until the end of treatment. Also, it emphasized the need for more space for the Psychology performance in this context and in particular the hospital setting.
